About Leslie Peters Designs

I specialize in graphic design and websites for small business. I believe that much of the free and commercial website templates available are unnecessarily complicated for the needs of most small business owners. I strive to create designs that are free of clutter, easy to navigate, impactful, and useful for the site's owner and visitors.

In the graphic design arena, I am quick and flexible in my turnaround times, and am happy to take on small or large jobs, from updating existing logos and templates to creating an entire marketing portfolio. I have advanced skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat.

I welcome all inquiries.

Background

I've been doing full-time webmaster work for the last 5 years in addition to freelance work dating back several more years.

I graduated from Princeton University with a degree in mathematics, then went on to become an actuary in the healthcare field, working for an insurance company and then a Big-3 consulting firm. Throughout these professional roles, my work always involved some form of programming, dating back to C, FORTRAN, and APL through to the SAS statistical language that's used heavily in the health insurance field. My tenure in the corporate world has given me a familiarity with the vocabulary of business and acquaintance with a range of industries.

After time off to raise small children, I returned to the workforce in a web design, enhancement, and maintenance role at the Society of Kauffman Fellows. I am well-versed in HTML and CSS in addition to being proficient with jQuery. I think learning new programming languages is fun.

Additional Pursuits

My passion for design flows not only through web and graphic design work, but also through my passion for photography. You can see some of my photos by clicking on the agency logos at right. I also have a retail placemat business using that photography.
